It was announced last week that Wayne Barbarick and Kevin Hoff will be unable to continue to serve as deacons for a while. Wayne and Shirley Barbarick plan to be in Oregon for an extended period of time to assist their family as their daughter-in-law Dana undergoes treatment for cancer. Kevin Hoff, in addition to his regular job is also attending EMT school. We do appreciate their hard work.

OPPORTUNITIES
To Serve

HELPERS are needed for the fall quarter. Helpers are not responsible for planning the lesson but to assist the class teacher.

BIBLE TIME workers are needed – Bible time leaders are on a rotating schedule so you will not be serving every week.

Please consider participating in these good works. See Janet Kliest for additional information.

September 15 - Picnic Help Anyone who would like to contribute to buying the meat and bread for the BBQ can give it to Jim or Dennis Everson . $10 or $20 each is suggested. That has covered it in the past when the men chipped in on it

THANK YOU to everyone who turned out for the recent workday. We appreciate all of the hard work.

COMMUNITY
From Bobbi Surra
In November, I am joining several thousand walkers for the San Diego Breast Cancer 3-Day. Not only have we agreed to walk 60 miles over the course of 3 days, my team has committed to raise a minimum of $22,000 to help fight breast cancer. Yes, this is a big endeavor-but it must be bold to match our mission to eradicate breast cancer. Our team currently consists of 11 of the most dedicated women of all ages. We have all begun our training, and are looking forward to the incredible journey that lies ahead of us.
The San Diego Breast Cancer 3-Day will take place on November 9-11 of this year. Net proceeds from the Breast Cancer 3-Days (there are 11 other 3-Days around the country this year) benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure to fund breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment programs, as well as National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund, to provide an endowment for breast cancer initiatives.
If you would like to donate you can make a check payable to the Breast Cancer 3-Day. More information about the Breast Cancer 3-Day can be found at http://www.the3day.org/, or by calling 800.996.3DAY. Tax ID # 23-7825575.
Thank you for your support,
